Highland Insight is open for business!

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: I’ve launched a new venture, Highland Insight! This has been a long time in the making, and I can’t wait to tell you more about what we’re building and the impact we hope to create.

Over the past 20 years in consulting, I’ve watched amazing ideas take shape—and too often, stall. Not because the people behind them lacked skill or dedication, but because even the best plans can get bogged down in the real-world gauntlet of stakeholders, politics, and regulations. Those experiences taught me something important: the hardest part of planning isn’t the idea—it’s making it happen.

That insight is at the heart of Highland Insight. Our mission is to help clients turn ambitious visions into actionable, funded, and implementable plans. We bridge the gaps between planners, partners, and processes so that what starts on paper becomes real impact in the community.

Along the way, I’ve also become one of our state’s leading experts in Tax Allocation Districts (TADs) and Tax Increment Financing (TIFs). These tools are powerful but confusing, intimidating, and often underutilized. Highland Insight helps clients—whether new to TADs or experienced—design, implement, and leverage these programs to strengthen communities, create better places, and make economic development more equitable and accessible to small businesses and visionary leaders.

Highland Insight is about practical impact, not just ideas. It’s about making ambitious plans survive the real-world challenges so they create real change—vibrant neighborhoods, thriving businesses, and stronger communities.
